Brooklyn band Field Mouse are back with a cracking single "Tomorrow Is Yesterday". It's an awesome blend of dream pop and shoegaze that is sure to please any lover of chilled rock music. Hopefully this is a sign of an upcoming album, which will be their first since their debut You Are Here in 2010.
Californian Elinor Blake, aka April March, has done a whole series of collaborations over the years. In her latest venture, she has teamed up with members of Tame Impala, Stereolab and Melody's Echo Chamber to fashion a French pop album inspired by the legendary Serge Gainsbourg. Ever since Merchandise's breakthrough record Children of Desire last year on Katorga Works, the Tampa based post-punk trio has been busy working on new materiel on an EP that will be out sometime in 2013, and has revealed the first single off of said EP "Anxiety's Door". In many ways, "Anxiety's Door" is an expansion on the sound that was solidified on their last record with its catchy riffs dowsed in a sea of noise and effects.

Chillwave veteran Chazwick Bundick aka Toro Y Moi recently revealed his new album Anything in Return, slated for release on January 22nd, 2013 via Carpark, and along with it a new single “So Many Details”. This new effort from Bundick will be a follow-up to his 2011 record Underneath the Pine, and is easily the most anticipated album for 2013 at this point in time.
Still Corners announced recently the release of a new single, "Fireflies", and a b-side "Hearts of Fools", their first release since last year's fantastic Creatures of an Hour, the group's debut album. This is the first time since then that there's been any speculation on a new album, which they stated is planned for a release in the Spring of 2013. This release moves the band in a more diverse direction than their previous, simplistic dreamy approach. It's due to have an official release on October 26th via Sub Pop.
Cloud Seeding's latest venture in his singles project features Swiss singer Nadine Carina, and was recorded in Liverpool. It's a lovely downtempo dream pop song. It's perfect for those chilled moments with your friends, or snuggled up to a loved one on a rainy day. The single is available over at Bleek Records.
Natasha Khan, aka Bat for Lashes, is back with the first single from her upcoming album The Haunted Man. Once again, the song has that dark Cohenesque sort of feel that makes it hauntingly beautiful. If this is a sign of what the album has to offer, it very well could be one of the year's biggest releases.
For his second single, Cloud Seeding, aka Kevin Serra, teamed up with Boston folk maestro, Marissa Nadler. The pair offer a chilled ethereal song that creates an impressively dreamy ambiance. The single's B-side, "Unquestionable", is an equally relaxing song that transports the listener to another plain. There is also a remix of "Ink Jar", performed by John Askew. Cloud Seeding is a new project from former This Ascension guitarist Kevin Serra. The project aims to release a number of singles with featured vocalists, Serra admires. For his first singled, the guitarist teamed up with fellow record label comrade, Greg Hatem, to produce a ambient alternative rock track with echoes of mellow psych. Actress and model, Milla Jovovich, released a folk album in the early 90s but has since pretty much stuck to the big screen. However, she has made her musical return with her "Electric Sky" single which will also appear on her upcoming EP, due out later this year. The single is a big step away from her previous musical ventures as she offers an upbeat electro pop record which makes the EP sound very promising.
Solveig Heilo of Katzenjammer recently released her own version of SBTRXT's "Hold On". She made it one day with various instruments and several objects she discovered in her kitchen, such as the cardboard box from her sound card for the bass drum. She then remixed the whole thing on Ableton and released it as a single. Hopefully, this will not be a one-off.
