Roller Coaster is the second release by Osaka's all female band Red Bacteria Vacuum. It builds on thir first EP, Killer Dust, to create a perfect blend of hardcore punk with melodies resembling those of mainstream alternative rock. 

Roller Coaster is raw and dirty in the best possible way . These girls don't do things half-heartedly and produce six awesome titles that hit the listener with such energy that the melodious choruses can often be overlooked. The EP was like a breath of fresh air in 2005, introducing a new vein of life in a somewhat bland genre. Indeed, hardcore punk has become generic and seems to no longer have anything special to offer. Red Bacteria Vacuum's Roller Coaster is different, its a wave of fury that hits the hardcore punk scene like a deadly tsunami.

The band may appear to be cute and fragile but don't let this appearance fool you. Rarely will you hear music delivered with such power and screams belched with such venom; it is almost terrifying. If you ever need a lift in the morning, just blast out this EP and you'll be well and truly boosted for the day.

Unfortunately, the band hasn't had much exposure. Being Japanese, it isn't easy to break into the already plentiful markets of Europe and the US. However, the band do tour the States on a regular basis, so who knows, maybe one day they will get the credit they deserve. Until then, just crank up the volume and let Roller Coaster take you on a most awesome ride.
